East Temple Peak. Wind River Range. Wyoming. 2011.
Jenn and I were pummeled by a storm while descending from Haystack peak (on the left) after a successful climb of the North Arete. Clouds had been building all day and finally unleashed hail and rain while we were finishing the last rappel. After hunkering down to wait for the worst of it to pass, we made our way back to camp, where we were treated with this amazing display of light of the peaks around Deep Lake.
God how i love the mountains in a storm. The storm rages and we cower. But the mountains remain steadfast, indifferent to the wind and rain. I admire their strength. There is nothing to conquer here but my own fear.
